Planting Something New (That’s Actually Old)

Last update: September 1, 2026 | Harvesters is closed.

It’s 9:47 p.m. The kitchen is finally quiet. You’ve got seven minutes before you’re too tired to think straight, and you’re staring at a blinking cursor, wondering if tonight is the night you actually write something . . . or the night you just close the laptop and go to bed.

If that’s you, I want you to tell you something I’ve been sitting with for a while: your creative life was never meant to rush. It was meant to root.

Where This Started

A while back, I built a space called Seasons & Stories—a gentle companion for writers who wanted their creative life to move at the pace of real life instead of the pace of a hustle culture that never sleeps. The heart of it was simple: nature doesn’t bloom all year long, and neither do we. There are seasons for planting ideas, seasons for nurturing what’s already growing, seasons for harvest, and seasons for holy, necessary rest.

That heart hasn’t changed. But the shape around it needed to.

I’d built Seasons & Stories to hold everything at once—homemaking, faith, craft—in one steady, ongoing rhythm. And there’s still so much I love about that vision. But the more I sat with it, the more I realized writers don’t just need a companion. Some seasons, you need a teacher. Some seasons, you need a plan. Some seasons, you just need someone to say, “Here’s exactly what to do next.”

So I took the roots of that original vision and gave them a new home: The Harvesters.

What Harvesters Is

Harvesters is where Harvest & Handbound gathers to grow—together, on purpose, one season at a time. It’s still built on the same conviction that shaped Seasons & Stories: that faithfulness is a better measure of success than speed, and that your calling to your family and your calling to write were never meant to compete.

But instead of one continuous stream, Harvesters now runs on a mapped-out seasonal calendar, with workshops built around three tracks so you always know exactly what you’re getting and why it’s there:

  • Write Better - craft-focused workshops for leveling up the actual writing

  • Keep Writing - the sustainability side: rhythms, routines, and mindset for staying in this for the long haul

  • Creative & Operations - the systems behind the scenes (batching content, simple tools, organizing your writing life) that free up more room for the words themselves

Each season moves between these tracks, so whatever you’re tending right now—a plot hole, a burnt-out habit, or a calendar that’s run you ragged—there’s something waiting for you.

If you’re a Christian mom who writes fiction, this is your table. Write faithfully, not perfectly. That’s still the whole point.

Your Invitation: A Free August Workshop

To open this new season, I’m hosting a free workshop this August: “You Don’t Have to Choose: Why Writing and Motherhood Aren’t Competing Callings.”

If you’ve ever felt guilty for wanting to write while your kids are small—or guilty for not writing because you’re pouring yourself into your family—this one’s for you. We’re going to name that tension honestly, and I’m going to show you a different way to hold it. One that doesn’t ask you to pick a side.

It’s free, it’s an hour, and it’s the first thing on the Harvesters calendar this season. Consider it a welcome home.

Mark your calendars for August 17 at 8 PM EST.

Come As You Are, Whatever Season You’re In

Whether you’re picking up a pen for the first time in months or you’re deep in edits on your third book, there’s a seat for you here. The rhythm that shaped Seasons & Stories is still the rhythm underneath everything—it’s just finally shaped like the home it was always meant to be.

Join Harvesters

Here’s what membership actually gets you—kept simple on purpose:

  • A live monthly workshop, alternating between Write Better and Keep Writing (with Creative/Ops woven in along the way)

  • The Harvest Hour, a monthly magazine and spotlight for the mom you are this season—because your writing life deserves a home too

  • 10% off Handbound Services, whenever you’re ready for newsletter writing, editing, or typesetting support

That’s it. Three things, every month, all pointing back to the same conviction: your family comes first, and writing is a gift to steward.

And for a limited time, you can join for $5/month.

See you in August.
